California and SM Entertainment Audition

CALIFORNIA AND SM AUDITION

There are a ton of people out there that dream to be a KPOP star and I am certainly one of them!  I decided that it was time to try to audition, so I went to Los Angeles, California and tried out for SM Entertainment.  While I was there, I decided to make it a great vacation!

The very first day I got there, I did not do much but get in my hotel and eat pizza for dinner.  The next day, Friday, I decided to look around a little by going to the different beaches.  I went to Monte Carlo, Venice, Malibu, and others.  They were all very pretty but some were very crowded and there are a lot of people out surfing.  Venice was very fun to shop around at because the had all kinds of places along the beach to seek souvenirs in.  I also decided to eat at Food Body & Soul.  It is an all organic restaurant.  The food is natural and tastes great! I got the raw vegetable sandwich with tomato bread and apple chips.  On the way back to the hotel, I stopped at a tea shop called Bird Pick.  They have amazing tea flavors!!! It is like a Starbucks for tea.

Saturday was the day of the audition.  I got dressed and wore light makeup.  The audition was not until late afternoon so I decided to kill time by driving through Beverly Hills and then went to Korea Town and went looked around.  I also got a sakura tea latte which was kind of watered down but it was iced........ It was near time for the audition so I began to look for the building. When I found it, I went in and auditioned.  After the audition, I went to Hollywood! I got to check out the Chinese Theater and ate at Mel's Diner.

On Sunday,  I finally got to go Shopping at a KPOP shop in Korea town.  After getting my CDs,  I left and headed for Tokyo Town.  They had the Japanese American museum which taught me a lot and made me feel closer to my roots.  I also learned that I am called a Hapa since I am mixed and there was a whole exhibit on people like me!  I also went to a macaroon shop there called Lette and got many flavors such as: Earl Grey, Rose, Passion Fruit, Mango, Violet, and Coffee.  So delicious.  I went to many stores and there was like a small Lolita store where I bought a Dal doll.

The rest of the three days was going to Disney Land which was amazing!!!

SM AUDITION EXPERIENCE

It is just before Korea Town and across the street from a Scottish Masonic building. It is really a small brown building and you take the elevator to the third floor.  There are a few people sitting outside the office waiting for the doors to open. I met a ton of people mainly for the purpose of seeing what they are auditioning for so that I can stand out by doing the exact opposite.  I was prepared to rap or sing but most girls sing at the auditions.  Most guys rapped or sang at the audition but I am not sure which one was more popular.  There were mainly Asian people but there were a few Caucasians and  one African-Americans.  A ton of girls were there and a pretty good number of boys that came in and out all at different times..... I would say there was no more than 150 or 100 but some of the people came in as support for one person.  I would reccommend bringing a pen because the first thing you do is fill out a form that you get from the girl in the front desk.  The form is filled with standard things like age, weight, height, and it also asks what other companies you have been signed with and your parent's nationality.  On the back, was like a little agreement you need to sign saying they are not responsible for injuries during the audition and you cannot be signed with another company.  I really did not see anyone incredibly good looking but most people there had either talent, a little bit pretty, or nothing at all. (not to be mean....) They first called people out one by one because there were not many people but later on started calling in groups of 5 because people started coming in.  I was in a group of 5 and in the middle.  It is a small, rectangular room we all lined up against a wall behind blue tape.  There was a man and a woman and they did not seem mean at all but were not trying to be friendly. They just had like a normal face like when you are just watching t.v. or are working/attending school.  The lady was the only one that talked and they were opposite of us against a wall with mirrors.  The lady had a camera in her hand and told us to look at nothing but the camera.  We each were told to introduce ourselves then go right into what we were auditioning for and then she would go to the next person.  I said my name, age, school, the last three digits on my given tag, then went to rapping until she put her hand in the air, signaling for me to stop before she moved on to the next person.  The first guy was 30 and rapped and I thought he was the best person in there compared to the others.  The rest of us were girls and I do not think that they did too well on singing.  I am not sure what I sounded like so I can't tell you if I think I did good but I gave it my all.  After everyone was done, the girl stood up and said we were going to have a rhythm test and you can either dance or clap to the beat.  I danced because you never know what someone is looking for and it is better than clapping.  I knew they were going to play Brittney Spears because I read it on another blog.  They played three by her.  After that, she told us that we would be notified if we passed the audition in two months and if we do not hear anything, we are welcome to audition again.  I made a ton of awesome friends because you never know if they will pass or not.  I heard that one girl messed up and covered her mouth while auditioning and the lady just went on to the next person so no mistakes should be made.  I did not get nervous and found audition is kind of fun for SM but I have been auditioning for many things throughout my life and performing so that helps out a lot.  One Korean boy sang a ballad and was asked to sing another song so he might be the next Taemin.  (I did not think the boy who auditioned was cute at all but I guess SM can make you appealing.) Overall, I still think SM likes Koreans over anybody else but it was very encouraging to see other races trying out so do NOT be discouraged and you do not have to be the total package! FIGHTING!!!

VAMPIRE KNIGHT

This is my first review of anything and I am honored for it to be a manga review of Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino.  This is my all time favorite manga that I have ever read.  I have read and/or watched almost every anime and manga out there and if it is shoujo, I have seen it with no doubt.  The reason why Vampire Knight is my favorite is because it has blood and I love gore (it really is not gorey though), it is a romance and shoujo, and it is about vampires! I thought it had a great plot and I really did not know what was going to happen next.  This is the plot here given by Wikipedia:
Yuki's earliest memory is of a stormy night in winter, where she was attacked by a vampire... And then rescued by another. Now 10 years later, Yuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy, Kaien Cross, has grown up and become a guardian of the vampire race, protecting her childhood crush, Kaname, from discovery as he leads a group of vampires at the elite boarding school. But also at her side is Zero Kiryu, a childhood friend whose hatred for the creatures that destroyed everything he held dear leaves him determined never to trust them. This coexisting arrangement seems all well and good, but have the vampires truly renounced their murderous ways, or is there a darker truth behind their actions? Because in this world of secrets, nothing is as it seems. And the price of misplaced trust may even be worse than death

There is the manga series and two seasons of anime of Vampire Knight.  Of course the anime season is not the real end because the manga goes on.  It has now been completed and I am very depressed so much that when I finished it, I can promise you that I cried for 34 minuets total.  I know that some people may laugh but I am an otaku and die-hard fan!

There is a little competition in the series against the two guys, Kaname and Zero.  So choose your side like you did when you saw Twilight!! Haha!!!! I am for sure in love with Kaname and you cannot change that.  I love how he is gentle and compassionate about Yuki.  His love is truly there but towards the ending I am not sure..... I still like him best though.  The bad thing about this story, it seems like she is going to get with Zero at times but I was really rooting for Kaname every chapter.  Now, I am not at all hinting at who gets the girl but let me tell you, she kind of gets both of them in a way......

I think I know that I like Vampire Knight the most because in every manga I have ever read, I always say that I should be the main character and not the girl in there who is either too weak or just annoying. Well, that is not the case here because I never thought that and I knew that Yuki was meant to be with one of those guys and not me.  I always get jealous of the girl because I want the guy.  In this manga, I just knew that (in my opinion) Yuki and Kaname are perfect together and I respect that so I will just put my love for Kaname aside because I know that they belong so well together!!!!! T^T

Haha! Anyways..... totally try reading this series, I really think it appeals to more of a girl audience but I have forced tons of guys to watch it and they ended up liking it so everyone should try it!!!

Thank you so much for reading this.
